Tendering Engineer
The client specializes in the electrical construction of large-scale commercial & industrial projects. It is the leading company in the field of electrical engineering in Greece and is currently growing internationally, with a primary focus in the United Kingdom.
The B2B Tendering Engineer, will seek new opportunities and generate new leads for the company. The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical Engineering, but will also possess a strong sales character, in order to coordinate new business efforts in Greece and abroad.
The selected candidate will directly report to the Managing Director and will perform the following activities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Prepare & Evaluate list of available bidding opportunities to decide which will be joined.
- Preparing site visit report after exploring site condition & surroundings.
- Review BOQ, Tender drawings, specification, special & general conditions which have to be verified all together, in coordination with Contract administrator or legal advisor.
- Review & study bid document in order to verify the availability of sufficient information.
- Quantities takeoff against available drawings.
- Coordinating in preparing initial design drawings (if any).
- Preparing method statements for execution of BOQ items (if required).
- Coordinate with Planning & financial department in preparing initial time schedule & cash flow taking into consideration any financial expenses.
- Coordinate with Procurement Department to collect information about market prices for suppliers & subcontractors and equipment based upon previous executed projects & recent available information, try to get the best committed prices from suitable sources.
- Prepare the final proposal c/w special commercial & technical terms & clarifications.
- Update all data base prices regarding all items.
- Contributing in any cost breakdown related to new scope & Change or Variation orders.
- Follow up with client & developer during bid evaluation stage.
- Coordinate with Equipment in charge to prepare list of equipment to be submitted with tender documents.
- Represent the company responsibly & professionally at all times
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2-year sales experience in the relative industry
- Excellent command of building relationships with new clients, as well as client retention
- Strong communication skills in Greek & English; additional languages are considered an asset
- Knowledge of RFQ preparation and cost estimation of electrical projects
- Self-driven and results-oriented mentality with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools needed to prepare client materials
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks
- Highly resourceful with the ability to work independently
- High level of ethics, integrity and reliability, so as to handle confidential matters
